When making a call to the connection manager with SQL Server Integration Services to write to Excel, you get the following error:
[Excel Destination ] Error: SSIS Error Code
The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager
“Excel Connection Manager” failed with error code 0xC00F9304.
There may be error messages posted before this with more
information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed.
This is because the SQL Server is 64bit, but the Excel application is 32bit. To fix this, in the project properties, set Run64BitRuntime to Use 32 bit runetime. You may also want to check that you are using the correct MS Excel driver.
If this doesn’t fix the DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER error, instead write the destination file as a Flat File, saving it as a .csv file rather and a standard MS Excel file.
