Outlook Cannot Process The RSS Content From <>. The Link May Not Point To A Valid RSS Source

After upgrading outlook, RSS feeds don’t update and you get the following error:

Outlook cannot process the RSS content from <<Site>>. The link may not point to a valid RSS source.

To fix this and make Microsoft Outlook synchronise RSS feeds, create the following registry key:

In Outlook 2003:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Options\RSS

In Outlook 2007:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options\RSS

In Outlook 2010:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Options\RSS

Under the newly created RSS key, create a new DWORD called Disable and set the value to 0.

Alternatively, if you have a number of computers where RSS feeds aren’t synchronizing and are getting the Outlook cannot process the RSS content error, you might investigate using an adm template to fix this in group policy.
