How To Stop VMware vCenter 5.5 Crashing

There is an issue with VMware vCenter 5.5 that causes it to keep crashing. To stop vCenter 5.5 from crashing, increase the thread stack size to 1MB. To do this:

  1. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\
  2. open vpxd.cfg for editing
  3. Change <ThreadStackSizeKb>512</ThreadStackSizeKb> to <ThreadStackSizeKb>1024</ThreadStackSizeKb>
  4. Save and close the file

vCenter should then stop crashing after reboots.
