How To Send A File From A Blackberry To A Computer Via Bluetooth

Sometimes blackberry will not send files via email or SMS because they are too large. This leaves you with five options:

  1. Send the file from the Blackberry to the computer via bluetooth
  2. Send the file from the blackberry to the computer via wifi
  3. Send the file to the computer using a cable connecting the Blackberry and PC
  4. Remove the SD card in the Blackberry and put it into an SD reader attached to the PC
  5. Don’t send the file

This article shows you how to send the file from a Blackberry to the computer via bluetooth.

The first thing to do is connect the Blackberry to the computer via bluetooth. To do this:

  1. Turn on bluetooth on the PC (this is done in different ways depending on the operating system you are using. TheControl Panel is a good place to start looking though)
  2. Turn on the bluetooth on the Blackberry (Blackberry button -> Manage Connections -> put a tick in Bluetooth)

Once bluetooth is turned on, you need to pair the Blackberry to the pc before you can send files. To do this:

  1. In Manage Connections -> Bluetooth Options, add a device (listen so it can be found)
  2. On the computer, add a new bluetooth device and type the code into the Blackberry. The Blackberry and PC will now be paired

Once bluetooth is turned on and the Blackberry is paired to the computer, you are ready to send a file. To send a file from the Blackberry to the computer:

  1. On the computer, right click the bluetooth icon in the Notification Area next to the clock on the bottom right of the screen and click Receive a file
  2. On the Blackberry, browse to the file you want send and press the Blackberry button
  3. Press Send file and select the PC that is paired to the Blackberry to send the file to that computer
  4. On the computer, select where to save the file to
