Today I discovered hop flavour cheese. I had some hops that I’d left in the fridge (from my beer brewing hobby) and they flavoured everything in the fridge. The Cheddar style cheese was flavoured by the hops and it was the most delicious cheese I’ve ever had. Once I get my finger out and start making cheese, I’m definately going to do an aged Cheddar cheese that’s somehow aged with the flavour of hops imbued into it. Amazing.
To make hop cheese, simply buy some cheddar style cheese, open the packet and wrap it up again. Put a small amount of hops in a container with the wrapped cheese inside and wait a week or so.
