How To Make Homemade Sausages – My Recipe

 Today I made homemade sausages for the first time. As with everything I do, I like to make my own recipe, and making homemade sausages was no exception. Here’s my homemade sausage recipe.


  • Ham with no sinue
  • Pork fat (must be super soft with no sinue, it should fall apart under a knife)
  • Herbs (rosemary, sage, lemon balm, oregano)
  • Sausage casing
  • Oil
  • Spring onions

Recipe Directions

To make homemade sausages, you need some way of grinding the ingredients up and a funnel to force the meat through into the sausage casings. Fortunately, I have a homemade sausage making machine 😀 To make homemade sausages:

  1. Cook the ham with oil and herbs
  2. Once cooked, mix died pork meat with about 20-25% pork fat
  3. Mix in finely cut spring onions
  4. Put in the freezer for 30-45 minutes so it goes hard. This will help the sausage mix to go through the sausage grinder and not just mush up
  5. Grind into casings
