How To Make A New Tab Open To Your Homepage In IE (GPO)

Did you know that you can make a GPO to enable Internet Explorer to open your homepage when you open a new tab? To make new tabs open your homepage in IE:

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools -> Internet Options
  2. On the General tab, under Tabs, click Settings
  3. Under When a new tab is opened, open: select Your first homepage
  4. Click OK -> OK

If you want to manage this behaviour with a GPO, the settings is Configure new tab behaviour (needs set to Enabled: Home page):

User Configuration -> Policies -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer
