How To Factory Reset An Android Phone

Sometimes you might want to reset your Android phone back to it’s factory state. To do a factory reset on an Android phone and restore it to it’s default settings, do the following:

  1. Click on Settings -> under Personal you will see Backup & Reset. Click on Backup & Reset
  2. You then have a few options to backup the phone, which I recommend you do before restoring it to it’s default settings with the factory reset
  3. Click on Factory Data Reset
  4. You will then be warned that This will erase all data from your phone’s internal storage. If you want to erase the data on the internal SD card (including any music and photos you may have), tick the box to do so at the bottom
  5. Click on Reset phone to reset Android to it’s factory state and default settings
