How To Disable Remote Sound / Audio In TeamViewer

By default, when you connect to a computer, TeamViewer plays the sound /audio through the remote connection. To disable remote sound / audio:

  1. On the PC you remotely connect to, right click the TeamViewer icon in the notification area next to the clock
  2. Click on Options
  3. Click on the Audio Conferencing tab
  4. Under Options for voice playback, click the Mute button (This will disable all remote sound for devices connecting via TeamViewer)
  5. Click OK

  1. Stupid and senseless HowTo, since there just is no notification icon for TeamViewer 8.

    • On the remote computer that you are connecting to (not the one you’re connecting from), click the arrow next to the notification icons (Next to the clock on the bottom right). The Team Viewer icon may have been hidden (Click Customize, you may have set the icon to not appear). The Team Viewer icon is a blue icon with a blue double ended horizontal arrow in a white circle.

Hope you can find it with these instructions, you can definitely disable remote sound via the Team Viewer icon and there’s definitely an icon in the version I’m using (8.0.17396). I suspect that your just doing it on the wrong computer or the icon has been disabled / hidden.

      • Thank the stars that I stumbled across this info. It has been so ridiculously annoying to have sound transmitted from my remote computer. I had done some searches for how to do this and had no luck until today. Thank you!

  2. Try Ammyy Admin
The software doesn’t require installation and registration. You can connect to any PC which is behind NAT.

But can I use that software to control my PC remotely using my Android device?
