How To Deploy Certificates Via Group Policy

Sometimes you have a certificate that needs to be deployed to a lot of PCs, the deployment of which can be simplified by group policy. To Deploy a certificate via group policy, do the following:

  1. Open Group Policy Management Console
  2. Create a new  GPO or edit an existing one
  3. Apply the GPO to an OU as required
  4. Right click the GPO and click Edit
  5. Navigate to:Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Public Key Policies\Trusted Publishers
  6. If the certificate is self signed or the certificate authority is not stored in the computer, then click Import from the Action menu and import the Trusted Root Certification Authority
  7. Click Import again and import the certificat using the Certificate Import Wizard

The certificate will then be deployed using group policy.
