How To Delete A Column In A SharePoint List 2010

It’s quite obvious how to create a column in SharePoint lists because there’s a button right there, but it’s a little less obvious how to delete columns. Here’s how to delete a column from a SharePoint list (in SharePoint 2010):

  1. Open the SharePoint list
  2. At the top, where it says “List Tools”, click List
  3. In the Settings group on the ribbon, click List Settings
  4. Under Columns, click on the column that you want to delete from the SharePoint 2010 list
  5. Hit the Delete button at the bottom of the page
