How To Cook Lentils Quickly – Mum’s Recipe

This is Mum’s lentils recipe showing you how to cook lentils (quickly). It’s not an old family recipe for lentils or anything like that, just a quick recipe that she shared because I said I’d never cooked them.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Green Lentils or Puy lentils
  • Half an onion, finely chopped
  • Clove of garlic, crushed
  • Chicken or vegetable stock
  • Quarter to one half a teaspoon of French mustard, depending on how big the spoon is.

Recipe Directions

Cook the lentils as on the packet and drain, fry the onion (but don’t brown) in a little bit of olive oil, add the garlic and cook through for a minute or two.  Add the lentils, a small amount of stock and the mustard.  Heat up for a minute or two and serve.

Good with pork chops, sausages and chicken.
