How To Cancel A Shutdown Or Reboot In The Command Prompt

This command cancels a shutdown or reboot for all versions of Windows (XP, 7, 8, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012, etc…). To cancel a shutdown or reboot, use the following command in the command prompt:

shutdown -a

Notice that the a stands for abort and that you can only cancel a shutdown or reboot if you initiated it with the shutdown command in the command prompt and it’s within the grace period time.
