Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe

Making Pizza dough is easy. Simply put some bread yeast in some warm water and wait until it starts to smell strongly of fermentation. If you don’t know what fermentation smells like, wait until the smell is strong when you put your nose over it. Next mix the yeast water with flour and a drop of oil (optional) and a pinch of salt (optional) then kneed it until you have pizza dough 🙂 Once the mixture has been kneeded for a while, cover it and leave it somewhere warm (not the oven) for several hours and then put it in the freezer / fridge until you kneed the pizza dough 😀 You’ll know when your pizza dough is ready because it will have doubled / tripled in size.

A Few Pizza Dough Variations

When making pizza dough, I like to add a few things to make my dough a little more interesting. Pizza dough variations include additives such as:

  • Garlic
  • Sesame seeds
  • Curry powder
  • Dukkah
  • Cajun spice
  • Mixed herbs
  • Crushed nuts
  • Diced sun dried tomatoes

I typically do a combination of the above to make my pizza dough a little more interesting.
