Connect To Platform Failed – VMware Capacity Planner

When trying to connect to a Windows server using VMware Capacity Planner, you can get this error:

Connect to platform failed

To fix the Connect to platform failed error:

  • Try restarting the Remote Registry service on the remote server
  • Try connecting to the server and running perfmon, then try adding a performance counter. You may find that you need to restore corrupt performance counters before VMware Capacity Planner will connect
