Cadburys Crunchie Chocolate Brownies

Here’s a delicious chocolate brownie recipe that I modified to incorporate Cadburys Crunchie chunks. Although in reality after it was made, all the chunks of Cadburys Crunchie melted, still they are very worthwhile putting in! Most people who tried this said that it was the best chocolate brownie they’d ever tasted. I wouldn’t say that myself, but it’s certainly up there with the best.

Cadburys Crunchie Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tspn of vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup of melted butter (Not really sure how much I put in, you’ll have to experiment)
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 1/3 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1 Cadburys Crunchie bar
  • 1 handfull of brown sugar
  • 1/4 tspn of baking powder
  • 1/4 tspn of salt
  • 1 tblspn of golden syrup (I like the Lyles brand)
  • Icing sugar

Directions

  1. Beat the eggs
  2. Add sugar, vanilla extract and mix thoroughly
  3. Add the melted butter and mix (Save a couple of small drops to grease the tin with in step 7)
  4. Before opening the Cadburys Crunchie bar, smash it into small pieces with a rolling pin
  5. Add flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, baking powder, Cadburys Crunchie, Golden syrup, salt and mix thoroughly
  6. Cover an oven proof container with grease-proof paper
  7. Butter the grease-proof paper with any drops of melted butter that are left over
  8. Pour the mixture into the container and cook for 25-30 minutes (The brownies will rise to about double the height of the mixture, so make sure there’s some room for this)
  9. While your Cadburys Crunchie Chocolate Brownies are cooking, mix some icing sugar and cocoa powder in a bowl to make a frosting.
  10. When the brownies are finished, put them on a tray to cook down and apply the frosting mixture. Once the frosting mixture is applied, I like to put some icing sugar on top because it looks better than the brown powder frosting
