When trying to launch Wise Package Studio (which is now owned by Symantec), you can get this error:
A corrupt or invalid license file was detected. Please reinstall this software.
A Symantec article on Wise Package Studio suggests that the corrupt or invalid license file error can be fixed by:
- Opening Regedit and deleting any registry keys that point to previous versions of the Wise Package Studio in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wise Solutions\Product
- Ensuring that Wise Share Point is correct in this registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wise Solutions\Install\Wise Package Studio 6\Sharepoint.
My experience, however tells me that Wise Package Studio can detect a corrupt or invalid license file when you log on and launch the application using a user account with insufficient permission to the license details. Try running Wise Package Studio as an administrator.
You can also get the corrupt or invalid license file was detected error if there aren’t enough licenses to access the software.
